Born in Cookeville, TN, Adam Baker was an artist from an early age. Learning from the example of his older sister, he began drawing cartoons and comics aimed at making people laugh. He pursued many creative paths throughout his high school career and upon graduating he moved to Nashville to study Fine Arts + Illustration as well as Graphic Design. After graduating with both Associates and Bachelors Degrees in those fields, Baker began his career as a Freelance Artist + Designer. Early in his career, he supplemented his income by working as a printer at a prominent Nashville printing company. It was during this time that Baker honed his skills as a print maker and began creating designs for custom screen prints for art shows he was self producing such as Cthulhu Calling.

Though he enjoyed the freedoms associated with being an artist for hire, Baker craved something more permanent. In 2015 he and his wife purchased All About Art Gallery in Hendersonville, TN. Here, Baker continues to create many forms of original artwork while also promoting other local artists. Perhaps best known for his portraits of animals where he captures the “light in their eyes”, Baker is accomplished in many mediums from painting in oils to drawing in pencil to digital graphic design. An illustrator at heart, he begins any project with first sketching his composition and then moving to a digital color study before completing a “clean drawing” to form the foundation for his work.

Baker’s work can be found in collections across the United States and all over the world. He has illustrated numerous children’s books including the Princesse Pearl series and UnkleBee and Me - of which he was also the author. He has been recognized by the National Ad Federation with Gold and Silver Awards for excellence in Illustration and Graphic Design and for the past eleven years has been the Official Artist of the Smithville Fiddlers’ Jamboree. He currently resides in Hendersonville, Tennessee with his wife Joy, their fourth grader Kayson, and their chocolate lab Koonu.
