T. E. Griffith Reception

January 05, 2012

On Sunday, January 8 from 3-5pm, All About Art Gallery will be hosting a small reception following the Memorial Service for local artist T. E. Griffith, which is being held at Hawkins Middle School from 2-3pm. T. E. held the same post for 30 years teaching art to the students of Hawkins Middle School, in Hendersonville, TN. He enjoyed sharing his love for art with his many students, as well as his 16 year old daughter, Sarah Jo. T. E. spent many hours being an avid hobbyist and a collector of all things interesting. He was a dog lover, a gardener and a craftsman, but above all an artist. The main subject for his work was people. His style was very personal and captured the emotional presence of his subjects. His favorite mediums were watercolor, German pencil, charcoal and egg tempera- which he made himself. His works have been displayed at Gallery on the Square in Franklin, KY as well as Whippoorwill Gallery in Hendersonville, TN. All About Art will be featuring many of T. E.’s original works as well as numerous framed and un-framed prints. Items will be available for purchase, and donations may be made to the T. E. Griffith Fine Arts Memorial Fund.
