Heather Gateley

I currently live in Hendersonville, TN with my wonderful husband Roy and son, Tommy! I grew up in a small town in Connecticut on the border of New York and Massachusetts and have always enjoyed many different art forms, from drawing and painting to working with clay and beads. About 7 years ago, while, at the time, living in PA, I started working as a floral designer for Michael’s arts and crafts store, as well as a fresh flower shop, called Domenic Graziano Flowers. This opened the door to a new creative outlet. In the Summer of 2009, while my husband, Roy, and I were planning our wedding, I was, of course trying to come up with ideas for the wedding and what kinds of styles I would use. One night, we had gone out to dinner at Cracker Barrel, in Goodlettsville, TN, and while looking at the decor in the restaurant, noticed a vintage magazine cover from the 50′s or 60′s that inspired an idea for my wedding. The woman on the cover was wearing a wedding gown accompanied by a beautiful floral headpiece. I immediately knew that I’d like to wear something like that for my wedding, and decided to make a floral head piece that I would wear with my vintage 70′s wedding gown. Then, for this past Halloween, I decided to make a glittery colorful headpiece to wear. When I showed Geri, the owner of All About Art Gallery my wedding and Halloween headpieces, she asked that I make some Christmas/Party inspired pieces for the gallery. I have enjoyed every minute of it and am thankful for the opportunity, as well as the chance to meet such a wonderful and friendly team at All About Art Gallery!
